At the Crossroads of Change

Florida is not just a swing state in elections; it holds significant influence over the path that the country takes toward the advancement of civil and human rights.

Bolstered by a vibrant immigrant community, Florida is recognized for its diversity as a melting pot of cultures. However, in a twist of fate, it has also become ground zero for attacks on diversity, equity, inclusion and acceptance, threatening the rights of various communities who are pushed to the margins.

Because it is one of the most populous and fastest-growing states in the nation, the decisions made in Florida can reverberate across the Deep South and beyond. Therefore, the SPLC is committed to fighting for justice through litigation, advocacy and public education to send a powerful message that progress will not be deterred.
