Using Social Justice Questions to Analyze Text
Support students’ critical thinking and social emotional learning by writing questions using Learning for Justice’s Social Justice Standards. Learn how to create and implement questions that analyze identity, diversity, justice and action in texts and that work to create and sustain classroom environments that honor diversity, equity and justice.
Friday, November 19 | 4:15 – 5:30 p.m. ET
Critical Reading for Teaching Honest History
Critical reading can help students analyze and resist dominant narratives. Learn how to center equity and justice in your literacy classroom by using strategies to amplify the perspectives of people from minoritized groups. In this session, work with Learning for Justice to explore the honest history of American enslavement through critical reading and questioning.
