Clarification regarding the American Committee for East-West Accord

On February 8, we published an article entitled "The far-right influence in pro-Kremlin media and political networks." In the article, the author expressed his view that the American Committee for East-West Accord (ACEWA), through the activities of Gilbert Doctorow, had "facilitate[d] the growth of transnational, far-right politics and, more specifically, the fascist neo-Eurasianist movement." After the article was published, Professor Stephen Cohen, a member of the ACEWA board of directors, contacted us and asserted that it was incorrect to attribute the actions of Mr. Doctorow, whatever they may be, to ACEWA. After we heard from Professor Cohen, we took the article down. We take this opportunity to emphasize that the opinions expressed in it are those of the author, not SPLC, and we regret any confusion that our posting it may have caused.
