The English Avenue/Vine City community and Councilmember Byron Amos have concerns about a substation that Georgia Power is putting in their community, only 0.25 miles from the current substation near the Fulton County Jail.

The community and Councilmember Amos are concerned about the project’s lack of
transparency, environmental impact and potential disruptions to infrastructure. The SPLC
has been coordinating and investigating the legal cause of action and recently found that
there is no viable pathway to using the law to oppose the project. But the community would like to illustrate the substation’s impact on residents and urge Georgia Power to change its course of action and work with the community.
