Suspect Charged in Toledo Mosque Arson

By Bill Morlin on October 5, 2012 - 5:12 pm, Posted in Anti-Muslim, Hate Crime

Federal hate crime charges were filed today in Ohio against an Indiana man, Randolph Linn, who is a suspect in last weekend’s arson fire that heavily damaged the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo.

Linn was charged with intentionally defacing, damaging and destroying religious property, and with using fire and explosives to commit a felony, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) announced.

“The Department of Justice will aggressively prosecute persons who attack, deface, or damage houses of worship because of racial or religious animus,” said Thomas E. Perez, assistant attorney general for the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division.

A security camera image and a woman who recognized and identified the suspect played key roles in the case, officials say.

Law enforcement officials released still photos of the surveillance video to the media on October 1.

The woman told investigators that she knew Linn and that he had recently made anti-Muslim comments, complaining about the international Muslim community’s reaction to an offensive, anti-Islam video that sparked demonstrations in various countries, court documents say. The suspect also voiced anti-Muslim comments about recent attacks on U.S. embassies and the deaths of U.S. military personnel in the Middle East.

The woman recognized the suspect’s sweatshirt and told authorities that three months ago, Linn purchased a red SUV that matched the vehicle in the surveillance footage at the Islamic Center, according to court documents.

The practice of benefiting others is the total truth, thus it liberates both self and others, far and wide. To realize this is to serve friend and enemy equally, and to see that even grasses and trees, wind and water, naturally reflect this sacred activity.

WWII never happened. Our policy of appeasement so overjoyed the Fuhrer he just had a big cupcake party. And our trade embargo with Japan coerced them to put seats in Betty bombers, and they cornered the world’s airline market. I’m sure our fearless leaders know how to deal with Iran as well.

Thank you, Ruslan. The information you provided is sufficiently valuable in some of the discussions I’ve had that I’m bookmarking it.

By Vietnam he might be referring to the Tonkin Gulf Resolution in 1965 which led to the expanded, direct involvement of US military forces in Vietnam. The incident is often presented as a lie to lead the country into a ground war in that country. However, while it was a flimsy pretense for an already immoral intervention in the affairs of a foreign country, the truth is that the USS Maddox had been fired upon with torpedoes the prior to the incident(in fact I believe it was the previous day). The day of the incident, a nervous sonar operator reported torpedoes in the water when in fact there were none. He was nervous because it had actually happened before. So rather than being some kind of insidious conspiracy, it was a simple mix-up of dates really.

As for Pearl Harbor prior knowledge it is simply nonsense, based largely on hindsight. Nobody who planned to win a naval war would have allowed the destruction of their battleships at that time. They were still considered to be the main weapon of a blue-water fleet. When people say it was convenient that there were no carriers in the harbor that day, they are forgetting that 1: One carrier was supposed to be there that morning but it got delayed in a storm, and 2. Carriers were not seen as capital ships in those days but rather fleet scouting assets. We know AFTER the fact that carriers are war winning weapons because of events which took place DURING the war in the Pacific, particularly at Midway. In 1941 nobody who was anybody in world navies had this idea. It would be like Hitler ordering an attack on his tank divisions just before 1 September 1939.

Ax, before you spout drivel, you should learn how to use the English language. And study some history, not Alex Jones’ web page.

World War I started with an Austrian archduke being murdered in the Bosnian city of Sarajevo by a Serbian fanatic, so logically, Germany had to invade Belgium. (I always loved that irony) It began for the United States when the German Foreign Minister sent a telegram to his ambassador in Mexico, offering to give up Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico on a platter to that same nation if it entered the war on the side of Germany. And oh, by the way, the Germans were resuming unrestricted submarine warfare (in the same telegram), and hoping that Japan would switch sides (also in the same telegram). The German Foreign Minister, Arthur Zimmermann, never denied it.

As for World War II, I remind people who tell me it started on December 7, 1941, that it began for the Germans, Poles, French, and the British Empire on September 1, 1939. The Anglo-American mainstream media reported that the Germans had invaded Poland with millions of troops. The Nazi media, standing up to the Anglo-American mainstream media, insisted that a group of Poles had stormed a German radio station in Gleiwitz, killed the German staff there, and broadcast anti-Nazi propaganda on the captured radio before fleeing back across the Polish border. Do you believe that? It was reported by Dr. Goebbels, and denounced by that mainstream media you hate!

However, any citizen of China might tell you that World War II began in 1937, when the Japanese invaded China, according to the Anglo-American mainstream media. The Japanese say the Chinese attacked Japanese troops at the Marco Polo Bridge, so Japan was retaliating to protect its citizenry. Do you believe that?

Vietnam? I’ve heard a lot of people angrily blame the mainstream media for “losing” the Vietnam War by its biased anti-war coverage. Didn’t Walter Cronkite come out and say the war was a hopeless stalemate and should be ended? Didn’t the mainstream media report the horrors of My Lai? Or do you think the mainstream media went out of its way to defame the US war effort to bring about a Communist victory? To glorify Jane Fonda and the anti-war protestors?

I guess now you’re going to tell us that the World Trade Center was lined with explosives, and that the planes were fake. Don’t share that with my pals who work for the Port Authority, who operated the building, and were lucky to escape with their lives…they really buy into the lie.

And how would you know the WMD in Iraq were a lie if it wasn’t for the mainstream media? Why didn’t Alex Jones or any of his cronies report it first, if they have the inside track on everything?

Like you wingnuts like to say….”Just asking questions.”

By the way, the mainstream media also pretty effectively reported the horrors of the Holocaust, but only after the concentration camps were liberated. Do you think the Holocaust happened, or is that just another cover-up?

Ax, disregarding all of the rest of the bile you presented in your comment, I must take umbrage with at least point you brought up: Do you honestly that U-20, under Walter Schweiger did NOT sink RMS Lusitania? And if you DO believe what you profess, where is your evidence?

I think you need to turn off Alex Jones and take a break from the reefer. It is warping your mind.

  • Chris

No one is saying he’s not allowed to hate Islam. He’s just not allowed to burn down buildings because of it.

  • Ax

The Sheep love being lied into wars : ww1 (lusitania) , ww2 (pearl harbour – prior knowledge) , vietnam ( the fake tonkin incident) , iraq (wmds) , afghanistan ( 9/11 ?!? ) , libya , syria ( both attacked covertly with nato backed “rebels” , more lies .
So now the herd of mind controlled uninformed programmed sheep salivate over the lie of the iran threat .
Why are sheep so dangerously mal-informed ? Ans: The dangerously grossly mal-informing MSM .
Why does the MSM grossly mislead us ? Ans: Because thats how our owners ( the same ones who own MSM ) want it . Why do they want it like this ? Ans: So military piracy and murder can go unhindered !

Linnea, since you whack-em like a pro…I say go for it! No need to be shy.

There’s more where they came from.

  • Kiwiwriter

My answer to TruthSayer comes from my middle school principal: “Your right to free speech ends where my nose begins.”

Those clowns right to hate ended where their match lit the gasoline.

  • Linnea

And it’s time for another day of Whack-A-Troll! I’m not much of a player myself, but I do love watching the rest of you at it. *Wanders off to find herself some popcorn*

Interesting thoughts here. Hate in and of itself is a self defeating mechanism for inner turmoil to brew. Moral values
is a subject haters should peruse. Integrity leading to character values of worth are so much more respected than hate. The ideas set forth in good faith here are reason enough for a pathetic group of miscreants to well evaluate their core purpose and reconsider their loathsome actions

Erika has complained of more Sharkies than she can wear, and her offerings during the last week were more literary than legal, so I shall confer upon her the Vorpal Blade Silver Tongue Award, instead.

And now, there are so many Anvil candidates, I’ll never do justice to them. But Dr. Beverly Kurtin, a newcomer, gets the Gold. At this point, I will make a leap of faith and award the silver to Coral Sea, the Bronze to Aadila, and a huge Iron Anvil to our Great (Big) Khan, Ruslan, who has returned with heroic energy and now must need to shoe his titanic horses.

And a giant keg of Allantide cider to all folks of goodwill.

  • Reynardine

Vili gets the Bronze… Bellows, for blasting so much toxic wind. What else would Vili do? And then there are lots of Sawdust Swastinkers to go around, for those who deserve them. Come and get ’em.

Robert Browell deserves a silver Hammerhead, for a fairly grandiloquent expression of a specific group. It’s not terribly original, since it could be copypasta from Robert Spencer, Pamela Geller, or even Anders Breivik, but at least he has demonstrated more than the usual amount of grammatic and compositional skill in expressing dull and odious ideas.

  • Reynardine

Though several other contestants have been far more grandiloquent, “Truthsayer” has a Hammerhead in real, pure gold for his/her eloquently terse advocacy on behalf of the root of all evil. I have never awarded a solid gold Hammerhead before.

  • Sam Molloy

TruthSayer, it is healthy to hate evil. It’s a waste of our time on Earth, however, and should be flipped over into finding creative ways to fight it. The SPLC does a pretty good job of that.

  • Xavier

“Hate is a God given human value and is not a crime but a free expression always. Hate is a God protected right of humanity.”

Yeah, burn the people you don’t agree with! Burn their homes! Burn their places of worship! Burn them all! God approves!

  • Anne

TruthSayer you have mixed up God and Satan. You might want to rethink what God values.

  • Kiwiwriter

If he’s guilty, I hope he gets the max.

  • Reynardine

¿¡Truthsayer?! Are you tired of bothering them at Loonwatch? The free expression of hate is not an editorial value around here, or I would tell you exactly how I would exercise my God-given right to express hate if I were ever to catch you exercising your God-given right to express hate around anyone or anything I value. We have some pacifists on this blog. I’m not one.

  • Aron

Hate may be a protected right. But attempting to burn down a place of worship is not quite so defensible…

  • TruthSayer

Hate is a God given human value and is not a crime but a free expression always. Hate is a God protected right of humanity.

Given the large number of converts to Islam in American prisons, he is going to be in for a fun time. Maybe he should have stuck to paedophilia.
