J. Loy Harrison (left), shows Oconee County Sheriff J.M. Bond and Walton County Coroner W.T. Brown where four black sharecroppers were pulled from his car July 25, 1946 and killed in what is known as the “Last Mass Lynching in America.” The Georgia Bureau of Investigation closed the case on January 29, 2018 without anyone ever being charged.
