Michelle Lapointe is the acting deputy legal director of the Immigrant Justice Project. She oversees SPLC’s legal and advocacy work on behalf of immigrants in the Deep South. Michelle began her legal career at SPLC in 2008. Over the past decade, she has represented thousands of low-income immigrants in federal civil rights and employment litigation. Michelle earned a law degree from American University Washington College of Law, where she was a Public Interest/Public Service Scholar, and a B.A. from Wellesley College.
